Camp P.O.S.T.C.A.R.D.
For ten years a cooperative effort between the Maine Sheriffs' Association, the Volunteers of America, and the Maine D.A.R.E. Officers Association has provided an innovative program for Maine youth. Focused on tobacco, alcohol, drug, and crime prevention, Camp P.O.S.T.C.A.R.D. is designed to benefit some of Maine's most deserving 5th and 6th graders. Camp P.O.S.T.C.A.R.D. (Police Officers Striving To Create And Reinforce Dreams) provides kids with direct involvement and mentoring with a variety of law enforcement and criminal justice professionals. [ Read more. ]
TRIAD
Triad is a community based partnership between law enforcement agencies and agencies and individuals involved in elderly issues. The goal of Triad is to reduce criminal victimization of the elderly by bringing together community agencies to form a relationship of trust with the elderly, enabling them to jointly recognize and solve problems. Triad is supported nationally by the AARP, National Sheriffs' Association, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police. [ Read more. ]
College Scholarship Program
The Maine Sheriffs' Association has established a scholarship program for a graduating high school senior to further their education. Children of any part- or full-time employee (or deceased employee) of any division within the 16 county sheriff's offices may apply. [ Read more. ]
